STQRY has acquired Amsterdam-based LiveTours, expanding its presence across Europe’s cultural and tourism sectors.
STQRY, a platform that helps organizations create and manage interactive visitor experiences, today announced the acquisition of LiveTours, a Netherlands-based developer of live-audio guided tour technology. The acquisition includes LiveTours’ technology, codebase, and intellectual property.
LiveTours’ live-audio guide system allows guides to communicate with visitors in real time using smartphones rather than through traditional whisper-sets or dedicated hardware. With LiveTours’ roots in the Netherlands and STQRY’s growing global footprint, the acquisition supports STQRY’s ongoing expansion across European cultural, tourism, and hospitality markets.
About LiveTours
LiveTours was developed by a group of guided-tours professionals who sought to address the limitations of traditional whisper-set systems. Their solution enabled tour guides to communicate directly to visitors’ smartphones, supporting low-latency and flexible guided audio experiences that could operate even in environments with limited internet connectivity.
The technology was designed for use across group tours, education sessions, and guided experiences within the tourism, museum, and hospitality sectors.
Under STQRY’s ownership, the LiveTours technology and codebase will be evaluated, enhanced, and incorporated into future STQRY product initiatives as part of the company’s broader innovation roadmap.
